The Weeknd, Florence + The Machine and more for Outside Lands 2018

The famous Outside Lands Festival in San Francisco reveals its impressive lineup. The English indie rock band Florence + The Machine, The Weeknd, Janet Jackson, Beck, Bon Iver and many more will perform at the festival, which takes place during the second weekend of August.

Other artists who were also announced include Portugal. The Man, N.E.R.D, James Blake, Father John Misty, Jamie xx and more.

Earlier, it was announced that the only European festival appearance of The Weeknd will be at Lollapalooza Berlin, while Florence + The Machine will also headline Bilbao BBK this summer.

The Weeknd

Abel Makkonen Tesfaye aka The Weeknd was born in Canada on 16 February 1990. He started his career on Youtube in 2010 and released his debut album, Kiss Land, in 2013. He has won three Grammy Awards, eight Billboard Music Awards, two American Music Awards and nine Juno Awards. In 2018, The Weeknd released his first EP with the title My Dear Melancholy, receiving generally positive reviews. Fun fact: The Weeknd is the only artist who managed to hold the top three spots of the Billboard Hot R&B Songs chart at the same time, with the singles ‘Earned It,’ ‘The Hills’ and ‘Can’t Feel My Face.’

Portugal. The Man

Portugal. The Man are an American rock band formed in 2004. Although their first album was released two years later, the band gained a lot of attention with their eighth album Woodstock, which came out in 2017. Their song ‘Feel It Still’ became the band’s first chart-topper and won a Grammy in 2018 for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.

Outside Lands 2018

Outside Lands is an annual music festival that takes place at Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. The festival was first organized in 2008 with over sixty musical acts from around the world performing during the weekend. Outside Lands also offers various art installations and more than 50,000 people per day attend the festival every year.
