Rumoured: Foo Fighters will do festivals in 2019

Foo Fighters are currently touring North America with their Concrete & Gold tour. This tour is due to end in October, but rumours have already started circulating about next year. Bookmakers see the band as the favourite to headline Reading and Leeds Festivals in 2019.

While Foo Fighters are preparing for the second edition of the long-dormant Cal Jam as well as KAABOO Del Mar, bookmakers Paddy Power added Foo Fighters to the top of their Reading & Leeds 2019 list with odds of 2/1.

Another rumour about the band can be found in a local American newspaper. An interview with an organiser of Jellyfish Festival names Foo Fighters as a possible headliner. This new festival will take place in Ocean City, Maryland in June 2019. This would make it plausible for the Foos to perform at European festivals in August.

This year, the legendary British festivals were headlined by Fall Out Boy, Kendrick Lamar and Kings Of Leon. The two festivals were criticised for their diverse and divisive lineup that included performances of artists of different music genres. According to Reading and Leeds organiser Melvin Benn in an interview with BBC News: ”Festivals have to be a reflection of what the public are listening to.”

According to the bookies, other possible headliners for 2019 include Arctic Monkeys, Drake, Bastille, ColdplayGuns N’ Roses and Biffy Clyro. Tickets for next year will go on sale this Friday (August 31) at 1pm GMT.

Foo Fighters

Foo Fighters are an American rock band from Seattle, formed in 1994. The group was founded by Dave Grohl, a true rock ‘n’ roll icon of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, after the dissolution of Nirvana and the death of Kurt Cobain. He released their eponymous debut album a year later, which received very positive reviews from the media. After 24 years, Foo Fighters have headlined every major festival around the world. Four of their albums have won Grammy Awards for Best Rock Album. The band has sold over 12 million copies in the United States alone.
