‘Slipknot will be back in 2019’

After a tour of stunning festival performances with Stone Sour, Corey Taylor will now focus on his other band, Slipknot. Here is what we know…

A few months ago, Corey Taylor gave an interview with Heavy Music Interviews in which he confirmed that he will work with Slipknot in 2019. Later this year in June, he announced in Kerrang! that the metal icons had written some new material: “We have 16 songs written right now, and they are fucking dangerous.[…]It’s only the demo stages right now, however we have very serious, tentative plans to go into the studio at the beginning of next year and get this fucking going.”

If we could expect their sixth studio album in 2019 as well as some tour dates, that is not all. Percussionist Shawn “Clown” Crahan declared in an interview with The Des Moines Register that an anniversary edition of their fourth album All Hope Is Gone (2008) would be released in the coming months, while the band is also planning something for the 20th anniversary of their 1999 self-titled debut album.

After performing in some of the biggest festivals in the world this year such as Rock Werchter and Roskilde, Corey Taylor could come back soon to festivals with his other band. Slipknot are now one of the bookmaker’s favourite for Download UK 2019.

Slipknot

Slipknot is an American heavy metal band from Iowa, formed in 1995. Alongside their headbanging anthems like “Before I Forget”, the band is almost known for its brutal image and its phenomenally chaotic live shows.
