The Raconteurs are set to release their third studio album in 2019. This will be the band’s first album in 11 years since Consolers of the Lonely. It will also be the first release since the band’s 2011 hiatus. The Raconteurs released their debut album, Broken Boy Soldiers in 2006.

The Raconteurs are reissuing their 2008 album Consolers of the Lonely, on the 10 year anniversary of the original release. This version will include a 7″ single with two new songs, which are going to feature on the new album coming out next year. Unfortunately, this reissue is only available for purchase for subscribers to the Third Man Vault record label. So this means that other fans of the Raconteurs will have to wait for new Raconteurs material. The band has announced that they will not release track titles or samples/teasers, to build anticipation until the music arrives.

The announcement of a new album is a bit of a shock, since Brendan Benson’s 2014 Guardian interview in which he said a new album was “kind of off the table”. Benson also suggested that their hiatus was “more like a split”, but this no longer seems to be the case which is good news for Raconteurs fans everywhere.

For Jack White, this will be his first return to a group project after focusing extensively on his solo career since 2011, during which time he was released three albums. He is currently on a European tour to promote his latest 2018 album – Boarding House Reach. This past summer he also played at Rock Werchter, Nuits de Fourvière, and Mad Cool.

The Raconteurs are a 4 piece supergroup made up of Jack White from the White Stripes, Jack Lawrence and Patrick Keeler of The Greenhornes, and Brendan Benson. They formed originally in 2005 and took a hiatus in 2011, and have only been making music again since 2018. The band has made two albums, their debut: 2006’s Broken Boy Soldiers, followed by their sophomore effort Consolers of the Lonely in 2008. The band was nominated for Best Rock Album at the Grammy’s for both their albums. They also won a Grammy for Best Enginneered Album in 2009 for Consolers of the Lonely. They have played many high profile festivals across Europe and America including Coachella, Glastonbury, Reading and Leeds, T in the Park, Oxeen, The Open’er, and Lollapalooza.

20 year old student living in Dublin. I've been to Reading Festival five times, as well as Bestival, All Points East, Secret Garden Party and Rock Werchter. Hoping to go to Glastonbury, Sziget and 2000 Trees in the future. Psychadelic Rock and Indie are my favourites but listen to pretty much any rock going. Other than rock, I like a bit of reggae, dub, and blues.
