Are Guns N’ Roses planning to release new music soon?

The current guitarist of GNR Richard Fortus made an enigmatic statement on radio. The band is aiming to release a new album “faster than you think”.

Guns N’ Roses have recently wrapped up the “Not In This Lifetime…” tour. They started in 2016 following the reunion with the original members Slash and Duff McKagan. It has recently been announced that it became the second-highest-grossing concert tour of all time. It grossed over $562 million by December 2018.

Now, Richard Fortus has given an interview at KSHE95 in Saint Louis. During the interview he was asked about the possibility of a new record from the band. He responded that, ”We’re going to try and do another record and get it out soon.”  He also commented that the release of new music by the end of 2019 ”could definitely happen” and ”there might be stuff started.” Guns N’ Roses released their sixth and most recent album Chinese Democracy back in 2008.

Guns N’ Roses

Guns N’ Roses are an American hard rock band from Los Angeles formed in 1985. Their debut album Appetite for Destruction was released two years later and is considered to be the eleventh-bestselling album of all time in the United States. However, it was not until the following year that it became a massive commercial success, after the band had extensively toured  and received vast airplay with the singles “Welcome to the Jungle”, “Paradise City” and “Sweet Child o’ Mine”. By the time of the release of their fourth studio album Use Your Illusion in 1991, the band had already become one of the most popular hard rock bands at the time.

Following many lineup changes and criticism from the media after departure of lead guitarist Slash and Duff McKagan in 1993, who rejoined the group in 2016, the band released their latest album Chinese Democracy in 2008. In 2015 Guns N’ Roses were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
