The Strokes heated up the atmosphere at the Wiltern in LA, and all for a good cause. It was a benefit show for the Foodcycle LA and the Center in Hollywood.
The benefit show marked the American band’s live comeback. Worry not though, you will get the chance to see them play this summer.
You can expect to hear them play their most famous songs and old fan favorites. In the meantime, check out their new song, “The Adults Are Talking” filmed and with thanks to a fan.
and the full setlist:
The Strokes are an American band formed in 1998 in New York City. Loved by the public, the band was also critically acclaimed. Five studio albums were enough for The Strokes to become indie rock icons.
Their debut album, Is This It, which was released in 2001, made it on the Rolling Stone’s Best 100 Debut Album Of All Time. The band performed at several festivals around the world over the years. Still, in 2017, they decided to take a break.
Albert Hammond Jr., the rhythm guitarist, worked on his solo projects while Julian Casablancas, the lead singer, started touring with The Voidz. It was Casablancas who announced that The Strokes were planning a “global comeback” in 2019.
Their Wiltern show marked their first live performance in over two years. But Bilbao BBK Live will likely be their big comeback moment as the band is set to headline the Spanish festival. It will kick off a summer of great shows, that’s for sure.
Be sure not to miss them this festival season, and stay tuned! Who knows, maybe we’ll get other new songs.
