Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds have confirmed the release of a new album with the title Ghosteen, which will be released next week.
Three years have passed since the release of the sixteenth studio album Skeleton Tree by Australian rock band Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds. Now on his fan Q&A page The Red Hand Files, in which Nick Cave responds personally to fans questions, he comented about when fans can expect a new album, writing, “You can expect a new album next week. It is called Ghosteen. It is a double album.”
Moreover, the artist also revelead the album’s cover art as well as the song titles of the upcoming release. The first half of the album will include eight tracks, while the second half includes two songs that are linked by a spoken word piece. He commented that: “The songs on the first album are the children”,while “The songs on the second album are their parents. Ghosteen is a migrating spirit.”
Currently there are no touring plans for Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, who performed at many European festivals in 2018 including Rock Werchter, Roskilde and Open’er festivals. However, the musician will be continuing his current “Conversations with Nick Cave” tour as he announced more shows in Europe for early 2020.

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds debuted their first studio album From Her to Eternity in 1984. Throughout their career, they have released sixteen studio albums, four live albums, two compilation albums, thirty-one singles and five video albums. Many critically acclaimed songs like ‘Red Right Hand’, ‘Henry Lee’, ‘The Weeping Song’, ‘Into My Arms’, ‘Do You Love Me?’ and ‘Where the Wild Roses Grow’ are considered as classics. Their last record, Skeleton Tree, was released in September 2016 and the band has been touring since 2017. They have recently released a live concert film.
