Over Maxi Meraki
Connections between raw disco beats and melodic house: A real symbiosis between the old school sound and new melodic beats. Born at the start of the 90’s in Belgium he came across the popular Miami Vice series. The infamous soundtracks and general style of the series had an influence on his musical taste: leading him to underground disco and melodic house. Now he still puts the same bright tones in his releases and sets, just like he’s known for always being smiling. Fascinated by new sounds and music it didn't take a lot of time to start producing his own sounds and release on labels such as Nervous records, Future Disco, SUDAM Recordings, Go Deeva and German Dj Tensnake's True Romance. Maxi Meraki's tracks are supported and played by e.g. Themba, Claptone, Roger Sanchez, Todd Terry, BLOND:ISH and Pete Tong on BBC1.
