Red Hot Chili Peppers preparing new album

American rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers are going back to the studio to start working on a new album.

In an interview for the New York Post earlier this week, band frontman Anthony Kiedis stated that the band will begin work on a new album later this month. Going by his words back in 2017, Danger Mouse should remain the producer of the new album. The same producer they did their last album (The Getaway) with, in 2016 . This will be their third album with Josh Klinghoffer on the guitar and twelfth overall.

The band finished their world tour in 2017, promoting The Getaway, and have kept a pretty low profile since then. A rare sighting was the concerts at Lollapalooza in South America in 2018. There are still no updates about new tour dates on their website, which has the fans talking about possible announcements and hopefully a few appearances in Europe. Although, judging by the timeline of their last album, it could still be another year before we see them on stage.

Red Hot Chili Peppers

Red Hot Chili Peppers are an American rock band that was formed in 1983 in Los Angeles. Their lineup has changed a lot during over the years. As a result, the frontman Anthony Kiedis and bassist Flea are the only members remaining from the original group that started out. The other two completing the current lineup are drummer Chad Smith and guitarist Josh Klinghoffer. Although their musical style primarily consists of rock with an emphasis on funk it includes elements from other genres such as punk rock and psychedelic rock as well. Their fifth album Blood Sugar Sex Magik was released in 1991 featuring Give It Away as the first single. Later, the ballad Under the Bridge was released as their second single from the album and became one of their most recognized songs. The band went on a tour promoting their album and instantly gained stardom.

Since then, their popularity has only grown with time, selling over 80 million records worldwide making them one of the best-selling bands of all time. They were also inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame after being nominated for sixteen Grammy awards and winning six. Above all, they also hold the record for most number-one singles and most top-ten songs on the Billboard Alternative Songs chart.
