The eagerly-awaited comeback in UK of The Strokes could have been better. Some technical issues “ruined” the experience for some fans.
This first weekend at London’s Victoria Park was full of suprises, good ones and bad ones. Firstly, Christine and The Queens impressed with headline-worthy show, and The Chemical Brothers proved once again that they were one of the very best electronic live acts.
Despite a perfect timing for their comeback, The Strokes had to face unexpected technical issues, which let some fans very disappointed.
All Points East organisers even replied to some complaints on social medias. You can read the full statement below :
The Strokes are set to play several shows across Europe next summer including Bilbao BBK and Open’er. It will sound like a second chance to prove to the whole crowd that they are still indie rock heroes.
The Strokes
The Strokes are an American rock band formed in 1998 in New York City. Five albums were enough for the band to become indie rock icons. After some festival performances around the world in recent years, like Splendour In The Grass in Australia in 2016, and South American Lollapaloozas in 2017, the band took a break. Lead singer Julian Casablancas started to tour with The Voidz, while rhythm guitarist Albert Hammond Jr. was working on his solo project. In January 2018, Julian Casablancas declared that the band would most likely return in 2019. It is now a certainty. Listen to their anthemic song ‘Reptilia’ above.
