2.10 Create a new Quiz using the Quiz Tool

Who doesn’t like a quiz about their favourite band or festival on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Time to learn about how to make a WordPress Quiz! The options are, almost, limitless and the tool fairly simple. Already have a quiz in mind? Here’s how to make it. No idea yet? We hope this inspires you. Good luck!   

Step 1:

Go to the Quizzes menu via the main menu in WordPress

Step 2:

Add a new quiz by clicking ‘’Add New’’ next to the title Quizzes

Step 3:

Fill in all the General details: title, image, category (artist quiz, festival quiz or lyrics quiz). Tip: try and create an image with the Image Creator tool in WordPress. For an example, see the Iron Maiden Album Quiz.

Step 4:

Switch to the Questions page under the Quizzes menu

Step 5:

Create all your questions individually by clicking ‘’Add New’’ next to the title Questions. Fill in the question, add an image, choose your question type (hover over the blue dot with the information mark to see the possibilities) and fill in the possible answers. Don’t forget to hit the box of the correct answer! The order of answers can be changed anytime.

Step 6:

After completing every question, switch back to the Quizzes page. Then, link the questions to your quiz by clicking the blue box with ‘’Add Questions’’.

Step 7:

Select all the questions you want in your quiz, select the boxes and hit the red ‘Select Questions’ box. The question(s) will then be added to your quiz. 

Step 8:

When all the questions are added to your quiz, the quiz is ready to be inserted in the article. To do this, copy the shortcode on top of the page and insert it into your article. FYI: the order of questions, as well as the answers, can always be changed.

Bonus step:

After inserting the shortcode in the article, check the quiz in preview. Doesn’t it look the way you want to or are there inconveniences? Try changing the style or setting by switching the tab from ‘’General’’ to ‘’Styles’’ et cetera. Be aware, the options are limited. For maximum performance, please contact the Marketing Team.
