As most festivals are rescheduling for 2021, great surprises are coming with it. And what if Hellfest Festival had two editions in 2021? So far, the only official festival dates are 18, 19 and 20 June 2021.
Hellfest’s director, Benjamin Barbaud, says it himself: “We have contacts. But I’m going to release a scoop: why not two festivals on next year?” Surprised, the reporter asks for more information, so Benjamin answers: “Two Hellfests in a row! The first one with the original 2020 line-up, and the next one, on the next weekend, with a new 2021 line-up. We hate to get bored, so we think about… everything! (laughs)”
The original 2020 line-up included headliners Deftones, Faith No More and System of a Down, with bands like Incubus, Korn, Judas Priest, Volbeat and Deep Purple also performing. See the full poster below:
For the moment, nothing is official. But Hellfest keeps doing great things. Some days before, the festival gave 195.000 euros for an hospital in Nantes, to help fighting against COVID-19.
Hellfest 2021
Hellfest is the biggest hard rock and metal festival in France and one of the best and largest metal festivals in Europe. The festival was organized for the first time in 2006 and has since taken place annually in Clisson. Every year, more than 50,000 visitors attend the festival, which is often sold out in a few hours. In 2019, KISS and Tool headlined the Main Stage, while Slipknot organised their own Knotfest on the day before the festival. Manowar were also scheduled, but they canceled last-minute. Sabaton took over with a very special headline show on Friday night.
