Some days are more stirring than other ones. On Monday 14 and Tuesday 15 June, Woodkid opened his summer tour at the Noches del Botánico, in Madrid, Spain. This show was intense for him, but for the audience as well, that came back to a show after more than a year.

Amazing. Intense. Thrilling. Unforgettable.

Starting with Iron, Woodkid enters the stage. The screams of the crowd sound different. People were happy to attend to the show, but there was something more. There was emotion shared with an audience that came to a show for the first time in months. Woodkid, as well, started his European tour at the Noches del Botánico.

Song after song, Woodkid brings the emotion to very high levels. The French singer sings most of his songs from The Golden Age and S16, but after so much time with no concerts, hearing them on stage with instruments like violin makes the thing more powerful.

On stage, Woodkid demonstrates that he knows how to do the show. With him, some of the best musicians create a unique experience that will be hard to forget. Moreover, he adds an electronic dimension with some beats that made the audience dance… until the last song when we were authorized to stand up. No one at the Noches del Botánico will forget it.

A concert with restrictions but happiness

If the event was one of the first big ones to come this summer in Europe, it was another proof that culture is safe, and is an example for other events to come. Spain is a leader in terms of concerts and festivals, like Love of Lesbian in Barcelona some weeks ago.

Before the show, it was possible to have a drink with friends, every group at their table and respecting social distancing. Then, there were different entrances to the show in function of your placement and there, it was not possible to eat, drink or take off the mask. Moreover, just before Woodkid entered the stage, the rules were explained once again: wash hands, keep your mask on your face.

In agreement with the venue, during the last song (which we will not reveal here, sorry guys), the audience could stand up to dance in front of their chairs. Before then, everyone remained seated during the ninety minutes of the show.

After months of not going to any show or staying away from the other ones, this concert almost looked like any other edition of the Noches del Botánico, as the public is often seated, depending of the show.
