Libertines is aangekondigd als eerste artiest en tevens headliner voor T in the Park. Het festival vindt van 10 tot en met 12 juli plaats op de nieuwe locatie Strathallan Castle.
Festivalbaas Geoff Ellis over de boeking van Libertines: “The Libertines are a truly iconic British band, revered as cult heroes by a generation of music fans and adored by the Scottish crowd. They chose Scotland as the destination for their live return on home soil last June, and raised the roof of the Barrowlands with two exhilarating shows. We can’t wait to welcome them back in what is a historic year for T in the Park, as we take up residency at our beautiful new home, Strathallan Castle. It’s going to be a very special year for T in the Park, and we can’t wait to welcome you all to Strathallan.”
De band kondigde onlangs aan dat een nieuw studioalbum in the making is en wordt opgenomen in de Karma Studios in Thailand. Fans moeten al 11 jaar op wachten op de opvolger van het ‘The Libertines’ uit 2004.
Libertines zullen naar verwachting spoedig meer festivals aankondigen. Best Kept Secret is dit jaar erg laat met namen. Pete Doherty is dat in de regel ook. Match made in heaven?
