A Campingflight to Lowlands Paradise, or Lowlands, was held for the first time in 1993. Spread out over various stages, the Dutch festival hosts virtually every type of music imaginable. Recent headliners include Foo Fighters, LCD Soundsystem, Mumford & Sons, Muse, Queens of the Stone Age and The xx, but at Lowlands, the rest of the lineup is almost just as important. Except for the diverse music, the magnificent decoration and atmosphere, the festival also features workshops, comedy, films and science – even an Olympic gymnast has taken the stage. Nothing is impossible at Lowlands!
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get to the festival?
If you are traveling by train, go to Lelystad or Dronten station. From there, free shuttle buses will take you to the festival site. Special Lowlands retour tickets are available.
If you are coming from further away, the most convenient airport is Amsterdam Schiphol, but Rotterdam-The Hague and Eindhoven are not far away either. From all three, you can take a train to Lelystad as described above.
If you are traveling by car, the parking area is located near Bijsselseweg 31, Biddinghuizen. When you get closer, the signs will lead you! Parking tickets can be bought in advance from Ticketmaster for €15, or on the spot for €25.
Is there a festival camping?
Certainly! There are seven campsites, most of them only a five-minute walk from the festival site. They open at 9am on Thursday, and close at 12pm on Monday. All the standard campsites are included in your festival ticket, but if you prefer more comfort, you can book a place at the so-called Gllamcamp.
